EHR Optimization

Once a practice has selected an EHR platform, the next step is putting the technology to work in a way that will optimize its efficiency and effectiveness. Whether using an EHR to capture and report data, improve the consistency and regularity of preventive services, enable electronic prescribing or achieve any number of other functional benefits, IPRO helps its partners achieve meaningful use of their EHRs.

HOW IPRO CAN HELP YOUR PRACTICE

IPRO partners with medical offices to analyze and modify clinical workflows to incorporate EHR capabilities for greater overall office efficiency. The diagram below, based on the Chronic Care Model, illustrates how a practice’s clinical processes can revolve around a fully integrated EHR, reducing redundancy of effort, increasing the accuracy and consistency of care delivery and ensuring that patients are fully engaged in their own care. Our goal is to help our partners reach this level of process integration.

WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO ACHIEVE MEANINGFUL USE OF AN EHR?

The federal government’s Medicare EHR Incentive Program, which promotes the adoption, implementation and use of EHR software by medical offices and hospitals, uses Meaningful Use to describe the application of health information technology to improve care and business processes. The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) defined the various stages of Meaningful Use in July 2010.

IPRO’S EXPERIENCE

IPRO’s knowledgeable staff, which includes physicians and nurses with real-world experience implementing and using EHRs, has worked with several hundred practice sites to help integrate EHR software into their business and care delivery processes. We specialize in determining the specific business and clinical needs of each individual practice and realizing solutions to those needs through the integration of health information technology.
